Mester Béla fő kutatási területe a magyar filozófia története, főként a hosszú 19. század időszakában. Foglalkozik még a politikafilozófia történetével, elsősorban a kora újkorban. Vizsgálódásainak középpontjában a filozófiai nyilvánosság szerkezetének változásai, a filozófiai élet társadalmi beágyazottsága áll.

Research Interests
Béla Mester’s main research field is the history of Hungarian philosophy, especially in the period of the “long 19th century. His other field is the history of political philosophy, especially in the early modernity. In the focus of his researches are the changes of the open sphere of philosophy and the social embeddedness of philosophy.
