The mission of the Institute of Philosophy is to cultivate and promote Hungarian philosophical culture and language. We are dedicated to conducting in-depth research in the history of philosophy and in various philosophical disciplines. Our goal is to ensure that our findings are both accessible to the international academic community, and enrich Hungarian intellectual life by conveying international philosophical achievements through original philosophical works in Hungarian and translations of classical and significant contemporary philosophical texts. As one of the most prolific institutions within the Hungarian philosophical community, the Institute of Philosophy has stood out not only for its distinguished staff and abundant research output but it has also accommodated a remarkable number of externally funded projects. We engage in internationally recognized and deeply embedded foundational research across a wide range of philosophical disciplines and periods, and we are deeply committed to foster social utility and preserving our cultural heritage.
