Abstract:

Is there something special about the survival of the self, or is it the same as the survival of any object? It has been argued that self survival does not requires identity through time, but is the same true of any object? And is it true that survival does not require identity? Does it depend on precisely which entity the self is identified with? Does the same self survive over a given lifetime? This talk with discuss these and related questions.
